TEAMIND – A Family Experience

Originally designed for therapists and early educators, TEAMIND is also a powerful family tool. This special edition was created for use at home, recognizing that parents too can support their children’s emotional intelligence and cognitive skills through engaging, family-friendly activities.

The kit includes fun board games, catchy songs, exciting stories, and bonus activity ideas. It places a strong emphasis on enjoyable, brain-boosting play that can involve the whole family.

These executive functioning exercises help shape your child’s behavior, support positive habits, and encourage efficient, constructive thinking. Together, you’ll enjoy quality time and help your child thrive.

Executive Functions – A Foundation for Social and Learning Success

TEAMIND develops essential life skills starting in early childhood. These include tools that help children become more independent, capable, and thoughtful in their everyday actions and social relationships. The program encourages kindness, empathy, patience, and the ability to wait, listen, and respond with calm and care.

By strengthening focus and attention, TEAMIND also helps children prepare for academic success, giving them a strong foundation to become engaged learners in the classroom and beyond.

What Are Executive Functions?

Executive functions are the brain’s control center — the thinking skills we use to manage behavior, emotions, and thoughts. These skills include:

Executive functions are essential for success in learning and development. They can be taught through everyday experiences like eating, playing, getting dressed, listening to stories, drawing, and writing.

The TEAMIND program helps nurture these brain functions during early childhood, a critical time for development. Strengthening executive skills early helps reduce challenges later on and supports children in becoming capable, confident, and compassionate adults.

Why Is This Important?

With more and more children being diagnosed with ADHD and related challenges even in preschool years, it’s more important than ever to give them tools to build attention, regulation, and organization skills. Executive function is also foundational for reading and math — and for all future learning.

Executive Functions and Their Friendly Characters

Throughout TEAMIND, your child will meet a cast of playful, symbolic characters led by Brainman — each one representing a different executive function.

The characters are featured in songs, games, and stories. They help your child recognize their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors — and give them language and tools to make smart choices.

By connecting with these characters, children learn to understand themselves with joy and confidence.

Meet the TEAMIND Characters

Brainman - A friendly model of the brain
Brainman teaches children that executive skills come from the brain and are controlled by the front part of it — where all the “managing thinking” happens. He introduces the idea that your brain is your guide, and helps children see themselves as strong, capable thinkers.

Brainman helps children discover their wonderful brain in a fun and active way. He introduces children to how their brain works and its role in everyday tasks. Through imagination and hands-on learning, kids understand how their brain controls movement, thoughts, emotions, and behavior.

This engaging method helps children process life experiences emotionally — in a way they can truly understand.

Meet the TEAMIND Crew

Each character in Brainman’s team represents a specific executive function. These friendly, symbolic helpers guide children through their journey of self-awareness and skill-building. They introduce good habits that support emotional and behavioral success.

The symbols chosen for each character are visual and memorable, helping children understand their messages clearly and intuitively.

Stopper Stan – The friendly stop sign who reminds kids to pause and think before they act.
Molly the Mirror – The sweet, caring mirror who reflects emotions and helps children learn how to calm down and notice how others feel too.
Memory Max – The smiling camera who helps kids remember what to do.
Lenny the Ladder – The kind ladder who teaches how to plan and organize tasks step by step.
Driver Dan – The helpful steering wheel who guides kids back on track when they’re distracted or need to shift focus.

In the accompanying kit:

Each character comes with a theme song, a jingle, three audio stories, a fun engaging game, and a poster.

Audio Stories

The stories bring each character to life and show how their executive function appears in everyday situations. These stories are great for both kids and parents to enjoy together.

We recommend having a conversation with your child after each story. Every audio story is accompanied by a set of illustrated scenes with short explanations. You can show the images to your child while listening, or after.

Your child’s self-talk during or after the story, combined with your own comments and explanations, is powerful. It helps their brain better understand what the character represents and how to use the lesson in real life.

Bonus Activities

This guide includes fun, optional activities to strengthen the specific executive function linked to each character.

Tips for Parents

Using the Characters in Daily Life

You can use the TEAMIND characters in daily life as “cue words” or gentle reminders to guide your child’s behavior in a playful way. When used with humor and consistency, the characters help children build positive associations and internalize valuable life lessons.

Each character demonstrates the benefit of the executive skill it represents through stories, songs, and games — and shows how using that skill makes children stronger, kinder, and more thoughtful.

As a parent, you can help “translate” the characters’ lessons in a developmentally appropriate way through questions, story discussions, and movements that match the songs.

Each character comes with their own game, and the back of each game card includes a clear symbol to identify who it belongs to.

Real-Life Flexibility

One great advantage of using the TEAMIND kit at home is that you can use the characters in real time, rather than following a monthly structured order. Feel free to listen to songs, read stories, or play games based on what your child is dealing with at the moment.
